Samantha is pleased to be a part of Connect’s vision of a new way to practice family law, one that is more practical and efficient and aims to help families not just legally, but also by connecting them with resources that will improve their lives post-separation and divorce.
An experienced advocate who has appeared at all levels of Court in British Columbia, Samantha’s practice now centres primarily on providing consultation and research support to the other lawyers at Connect. Her straightforward, “tell it like it is” approach to family law and her singular ability to spot and solve complex legal issues make her perfectly suited to her role as legal strategist. Samantha assists clients with the full range of family law matters, and has particular expertise when it comes to complex property issues and wealth management.
Before joining Connect, Samantha practiced civil litigation in the Vancouver offices of DLA Piper, a large, international law firm, for several years. There, her practice focused primarily on family law, and included general litigation and administrative law. She was also co-author of the family law chapter of the Continuing Legal Education Annual Review in 2014 and 2015.
Away from the office, Samantha devotes her volunteer (and some of her leisure) time to fulfilling her love for animals. She is an active fundraiser for the SPCA, and has also volunteered her time at a sloth rescue sanctuary in Costa Rica. At home, she cares for her two dogs, Muffin and Bear, who she adopted as a senior bonded pair (and who came to her already named!).
Her other spare time interests include travelling, hiking, and costume-making.
